"I walked in with a set of keys which were nearly 15 years old (at least...that's how long I have had them.)  The sales girl eyeballed them in an instant and said, "do you have a newer version of this key?"  I said no.  She explained that it was really worn, and the duplicate might not work.  I liked how up front she was about it.
